Privacy
Short version: the records are public, the site sets no cookies, and what you give us in a claim is used to confirm the claim and send what you asked for. It is not sold or shared.
Records on the site
Business listings are drawn from Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR), public regulant lists, a public record, plus the phone number and website a business publishes about itself. We do not publish home addresses, personal email addresses, or anything from private sources.
What we collect when you claim or correct a record
Your name, role, email address, and, if you give it, your phone number; the record you claimed; the time, page and network address of the submission; and which consent boxes you checked. We keep this as evidence of the claim and of your consent for at least four years.
How it is used
- To send the claim code and confirm you represent the business.
- To issue the seal and the one-page read you asked for.
- If you checked the email box: occasional notes from the desk. Every email carries an unsubscribe link.
- If you checked the text and call box: texts and calls about your listing from Execution Partner, which may include automated or AI-assisted calls. Reply STOP to any text to end them. See text messaging terms.
Mobile information and text-messaging opt-in data will not be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Service providers who deliver email or text messages on our behalf process the data only to deliver those messages.
Cookies and analytics
The site sets no cookies and loads no advertising or social-media trackers. Our web server keeps standard access logs (page requested, time, network address, browser type) for security and to count visits, deleted after 90 days.
Your choices
Unsubscribe from email with the link in any message; stop texts by replying STOP; ask us to delete your claim data, or to remove your business's phone or website from a listing, by writing to desk@thetradesrecord.com. License facts are the Board's public record and stay.
